Documenting and stabilizing a traditional timber-and-brick pagoda temple
The Dattatreya Temple is a historic timber-and-brick shrine in Tilakwo built in the traditional two-tiered pagoda form. Its west-facing carved wooden doorway stands above a double stone-paved plinth. While much of the original carved timber survived, several lower roof struts had been replaced with plain members, and the tympanum above the main doorway was missing. Mid-20th-century rebuilding altered portions of the structure, including encroachment on the eastern plinth by an adjacent matha.
