KVPT's first major temple restoration
KVPT undertook the documentation and rebuilding of the 17th-century Radha Krishna Temple, a multi-tiered pagoda in the Patan Darbar World Heritage Site that had fallen into ruin. Funding from the Canada Fund, earmarked for the training of women, launched the project and supported more than 55 female laborers in the careful cleaning and treatment of historic woodcarvings.
The complete refurbishment of this outstanding example of a Malla period temple was praised by numerous experts including the 1993 UNESCO Mission to Nepal as: "a demonstration that the highest standards of international conservation practice have been achieved in Nepal
